We are delighted that Clyde Cycle Park has taken another step forward with the formal opening of a new reception building at the Park and are very grateful to local firm, Patersons Quarries, for their generous funding it making it possible. It was a pleasure to welcome Lorna Gall, Sales Director at Paterson’s Quarries, to the Park to cut the red ribbon to mark this latest milestone.

The installation of the reception building, provided by Portakabin Ltd, has given the Park meeting space and kitchen facilities, providing both staff and visitors with a place to come together (and shelter from the elements on occasion!). The funding from Patersons also allowed the size of the management compound to be increased with extra storage units – provided by Scottish Cycling and Stevie Kilcoyne (director of a local building firm) – a WC and more space for bikes and equipment.

We were very pleased that our elected members were able to join us to celebrate this milestone – Michael Shanks MP, Clare Haughey MSP, Cllr Robert Brown (Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Community & Enterprise Resources Committee) and Cllr Walter Brogan (Cambuslang East) – as well as Stephen Rees, Chief Executive of Land Trust Funding Ltd, who managed the funding award.

We are grateful to the strong support we have received from our local elected members as we go towards the next milestone of extending our circuits to 1km in length.
